In this module* we examine what it means to live “the writing life,” from how we define that term for ourselves to how we create goals, environments, mindsets, practices, and processes that serve our writing amidst our everyday lives. This module is all about exploring and experimenting** with the various components of creating a writing life that works for you.
*This is a double module, packed full of content. Take it at your own pace, and don’t be overwhelmed. If you’d like to break this module into smaller sections, follow this suggested lesson outline:
Section 1: What Is It?; Basic Elements; Goals
Section 2: A Room of Your Own; Implements & Objects; Rituals; Rhythms
Section 3: Practice (parts 1 & 2); Process; Follow the Energy; Sticking Points
Section 4: Semantics; Support
**Module Exercises: The exercises in this module are less like writing prompts or exercises and more like experiments related to different aspects of the writing life. You can find these activities sprinkled throughout the module on their related lesson pages. A list of them (with links) is also included at the end of the module.
>Each page in this module contains a space at the bottom for discussion. I encourage you to post your comments, questions, and replies.
